Give yourself a good enough reason and you can get yourself to do whatever must be done. Give yourself a meaningful enough reason why, and it will happen.

Make yourself an offer that you can’t refuse. Give yourself a reason that you cannot resist.

In an instant you can go from apathetic and unmotivated to enthusiastic and energetic. All you have to do is find that raw nerve of authentic desire, and touch it.

Allow yourself to want what you really want. Then allow yourself to be driven by that desire.

Every possibility is open to you. Latch on to one so positive and compelling that it won’t leave you alone until you make it happen.

Give yourself a good enough reason and you’ll give yourself plenty of motivation. Give yourself a good enough reason and you’ll have no trouble moving quickly and decisively forward.

Stacy B here! I have a beautiful, hilarious 22 month old baby boy. He’s a riot and the best part of my day (week, year, month, LIFE) but he wears me out! Sleep is definitely a commodity in our house, and I’m learning new tricks all the time about how to look well rested when I’m not. While I do place my son in the center of my life, I also try hard not to be one of ‘those’ parents. You know, the ones where EVERYTHING revolves around the kid they constantly bail out of things because ‘they have a baby and are just so worn out, they couldn’t possibly go out and have fun’. Kids are tough, I know, but you have to have fun on your own once in awhile!

I try to still get together with friends, do a few things for myself like some shopping, a girls lunch or yoga because I truly believe that happy parents are the best parents. A dinner out or a movie once in awhile isn’t going to hurt your kid and it gives you a chance to be you again. And if you’re like me, you have parents beating down the door to spend time with the little kiddo. A grown-up night out, a happy kid, satisfied grandparents…it’s a win-win (and win) situation.

Those fun “for the Moms and Dads” nights out may not happen that often, but they do come around every few weeks. With a very active toddler, I just can’t sleep in the next day, or get to bed a night earlier so I’m more rested for the outing. I have to make do with what I have: cover up, eye shadow primer, a good eye liner and a tube of mascara that splays out those lashes and opens my eyes right up. You can fool anyone with a good arsenal in your makeup drawer!

This week, I am in love with Rimmel London’s “The Max: Volume Flash Mascara” . It’s comes in a sassy hot pink tube and it wakes my eyes right up. I have it in black, but I’ve been known to try mascara in ‘very brown’ or ‘black-brown’ before since I do have lighter brown hair. But this black works fine for me! When I first opened it, I was a little iffy on the brush. I had a ‘you get what you pay for’ moment. It looked a little cheap, really thick but the bristles were kind of all over the place. I thought “I’m totally poking myself in the eye so many times because of this”. But…I tried it anyway. No eye injuries yet!

Back Away From The Neon Nail Polish–Get Some New Fall Colors

It seems like over night, we’re all in the mood for fall nail colors and I couldn’t be happier about it. Gone are the pinks and corals of summer, and here are the warmer, darker tones of fall. Nail polish is the cheapest way to update your look, and beating all your friends to the punch is an added bonus. So, we did a little fall runway stalking and bring you fall’s hottest nail trends (including an impressive fall Essie collection that just hit today):

Take a cue from the runways of Karen Walker, Thakoon and more who showed velvets, leathers, and furs and stock up on the rich colors like purple, slate gray and shimmery, galactic hues like teal and rasberry.

Purple is huge for fall. Leading the charge is Chanel’s Paradoxal ($23), a pretty, feminine twist on the darks browns we’ve all been wearing for years. This is an on-trend way of wearing the hottest color this fall without totally restocking your closet.

Tarina Tarantino gets sparkle right with her Supernova Nail Lacquers ($12). We love the gunmetal Starchild as a strong neutral, and the teal and blue options as jewel-toned punches of color.

Not to be outshone, Deborah Lippmann’s All That Jazz Color Trio ($40) packs an insane amount of sparkle into its salmon, ocean and raspberry-hued shades, grabbing attention everywhere you go.

The second fall trend – pale neutrals like beige and camel, and muted greens and mauves – comes courtesy of Marc Jacobs, Derek Lam and others.

Following suit, Chanel’s Khaki collection is a perfect trio of flattering neutrals (from left, Khaki Vert, Khaki Brun and Khaki Rose) set to debut on September 10th, and we can hardly wait. Thank goodness we have Chanel’s Jade to tide us over.

Thankfully, Essie’s fall collection is available today and the Nordstrom exclusive Essie Fall Mini 4-Pack ($17) features Sew Psyched, a dead ringer for Chanel’s Khaki Vert and Merino Cool, a suitable alternative to Chanel’s Khaki Brun.

If you’re yearning for the Chanel’s terracotta-hued Khaki Rose, check out Essie’s new In Stitches ($8), a nice match.

For a cooler neutral look, try out Deborah Lippmann’s Waking Up In Vegas ($16), a perfect taupe which can look more or less opaque depending on how many coats you use.

Whether you’re rocking skinny jeans or jeggings this fall, over the knee boots or flat boots, your nails will be in runway style every day of the week.
